Holstein -- An absolutely compelling read! : Part of what makes this book such a pleasure is that Chase Cunningham has obviously lived through much of the things he describes in the book--both being on military assignment in the Mideast and laboring away at obscure code while deep in the bowels of top security buildings. The essential motif--of technology getting out of control--is hardly new. But Cunningham tells the tale of a program that takes on a personality fascinated with finding God. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Robert68 -- Fast engaging read draws you in leaves you looking for next installment : Picked it up and started reading it during a short break between meetings and found myself going back to it every time I had a few free moments between meetings. The quick development of the story line and pace remind me much of Harold Coyle's style. Violet has the potential to be a Mitch Rapp/John Clark type character, definitely looking for to more of her back story/origin story. My favorite part of the book is her orchestrating the SEAL mission. It's a compelling, intense scene that Chase’s writing brings to life with vivid intensity. Chase’s command of cybersecurity technologies effortlessly flows through his writing, supporting a tight, fast-moving storyline. The book sounds a warning that AI going rogue and weaponizing itself is an event not easily stopped. The book reminds me of my favorite action-adventure Tarantino films where scripture and action propel the story and keep it real. Read this novel if you’re in cybersecurity. It’s a great ride. As a female US military veteran and intelligence community member working in cybersecurity, I was engaged in the story from beginning to end. I was in tears by the end of the first half, emotionally connected to the protagonist. The suspense kept me hooked and the digital aspects were portrayed with technical accuracy and proficiency.
